FLOWER FAQs

Can I arrange a custom bouquet order?

If you're looking for something more tailored and specific it will be best to call or email us so we can help advise with what we have available and what is in season. We always do our best to accommodate the style and colours that are requested. When it comes to specific flower varieties this is obviously up to mother nature and what is in season, so we can not guarantee availability.

Do you offer subscription flowers?

Yes we do! We offer weekly, fortnightly and monthly subscriptions in a variation of sizes/prices. You can find them in our online store or contact us directly to discuss further options.

How do I take care of my flowers?

Discard the wrapping for the bouquet. We recommend keeping the string around the bouquet so the design holds its shape. Give the flowers a good trim and then place them into a clean vase of water. Refresh the water every 2-3 days and give them a fresh trim as well. Display flowers in a cool spot and away from fruit.  Fruit releases ethylene gas, a natural plant hormone that speeds up aging, causing cut flowers to wilt, brown, and die much faster. But refreshing the water and re-cutting the stems is the main thing you need to do to ensure your flowers will have a great vase life.

How do I know the size of the bouquets?

Please note the size on the bouquet photo is reference to the size noted in the details on each arrangement we offer. The photo is also a reference to the colour and style of the bouquet. Please note that the flowers will vary regarding to what is in season.

We offer a arrangement in the following sizes.

  • POSY - this is a our smallest bouquet and is a lovely gesture perfect for a small vase.
  • SMALL - Slightly bigger then our posy, this is a sweet little bouquet that would go perfectly on a coffee table or on a bed side table. A lovely collection of thoughtfully picked and designed flowers. Will fit perfectly in a smaller vase. We aim to have more height in our small bouquet then the posy.
  • MEDIUM - A generous bunch - not too big and not too small. Prefect for the middle of a table.
  • LARGE - Thoughtfully arranged flowers. The large is our most popular size of bouquet and is the perfect way to show love. It's abundant but not over powering.
  • XL - An abundant bouquet lush in blooms, the perfect way to really wow someone.
  • BIG BOY - A hefty bouquet curated with beautiful blooms. We try our best to incorporate more premium blooms in these arrangements to reflect the gesture. A perfect statement piece to make someone say WOW when they enter the room.

Can I add a card message to my flowers?

Yes of course you can! You will see this when you check out. Our cards are complimentary and hand written. We ask that you don't make the message to long as our cards are not that big.

EVENT & WEDDING FAQs

How much do wedding flowers cost?

Wedding flowers can vary greatly in price. It is dependent on the size of your event and what you are wanting. We make bespoke wedding quotes tailored to each couple's needs and requirements for the special day. We try our best to work with any budget. Most of our couples invest between $2000 - $3000 and $10,000 for full wedding floral styling, with intimate weddings and elopements starting from around $1,000.

Do you travel outside of Wellington for weddings and events?

Yes we do! We had the pleasure of creating weddings and events all over the country over the years such as Hawkesbay, Nelson and Taupo. We also spend most of the wedding season heading over the hill to the Wairarapa.

How do I book Cellar Daisy for my wedding?

To begin the process, please fill out either our wedding enquiry form or our event enquiry form. Once we receive your details, we’ll schedule a consultation to discuss all of your requirements.

Can you accommodate last-minute wedding bookings?

Yes, if we are available on the date we will try our best to accommodate your wedding floral needs.

What happens with the flowers after the event?

We always encourage our clients to take the flowers home or share them with guests to enjoy in the days following your event - after all, they’re yours! Please note that, as most wedding flowers are at their most open and beautiful stage, they often don’t have much longevity left in them. We do ask that all vases, flower frogs and other property of Cellar Daisy is not taken and or is returned.

How far out should I book my wedding flowers?

6 - 12 months. We do not book too far out as we have found over the years peoples visions of their wedding flowers change. We also try our best to accommodate any last minute bookings.
